Before we set off we spent Christmas with our daughter Fiona and family, so I thought I would share a few photos with you!
A visit to to the the theatre was a highlight for our Grandchildren, Millie and George. This elf was preparing for The Night before Christmas.
And Father Christmas had a chat with Millie and George.
But the waiting at home is very trying!
But the day arrives and there is lots to eat and drink!
Grandad prepares the drink.
The turkey is magnificent, whole and carved!
Decorations are everywhere.
Even on the cake, decorated by Millie and Granny.
The family chinked their glasses to all and sundry, especially absent friends.
For George, it was all too exciting and a nap was needed.
But the next day the great excitement was all the Austin clan arriving - more gifts, a lot of happy noise and other Grandads playing card tricks.
Uncles reading stories
And our Grandad doing the upside down trick!
Cousins setting the world to rights.
And Mummy having a well earned drink!
The next day was the boys' day - off to the small steam train track nearby.
What fun, we remembered travelling in one of these trains!
Yes, it really was a white Christmas!
The end to a wonderful Christmas. We hope you all had as much fun as we did.
Now to pack the bags again for the next big adventure.
